A milker handles cows quietly and efficiently, following sanitary procedures and correct milking procedures. The milker ensures sanitation and cleanliness in the milking parlour. A milker’s duties also often include feeding, calf care, barn cleaning and maintenance, and equipment operation.

Animal husbandry, dehorning, hoof trimming, herd health detection and treatment, milk cows, breeding and/or artificial insemination, record keeping, calving, equipment operation.

Attend to animals on a farm or ranch that may include beef or dairy cattle, sheep, hogs, goats, horse, mink, poultry and other living animals. Duties may include feeding, watering, herding, herd health, catching and loading animals. It may also include cleaning and maintaining barn areas.

Supervises and coordinates farm activities such as breeding, feeding, herding, livestock care, construction and repair of buildings and property.

Perform duties on the farm such as cleaning, disinfecting, daily egg collecting, checking barns for mortality & culling, and barn setup. Ability to perform minor electrical, carpentry, and farm equipment repairs. Responsible for following bio-security and company related policies.

Duties include processing cattle (tagging, recording, weighing and herd health detection and treatment). Other general feedlot duties include maintenance and repair and may include fieldwork.
